OpenAI has introduced a new tool that turns ChatGPT into a personal assistant for online shopping, available for free.
ChatGPT has launched one of the best tools of recent months, making it an intelligent personal assistant for when you need to make a purchase that requires comparison.
The functionality in question is called Shopping Research, and it appears in the main ChatGPT interface, just below the In-depth Research option, which is more geared towards complex topics or those requiring further study.
In the case of purchase research, OpenAI has also introduced a new feature that makes accessing data much easier, such as an interface that guides you through the entire process without even having to write a very detailed prompt.
In the example we have carried out, we have asked ChatGPT for “a new desktop computer, which is for office tasks, but with which you can also play without problems.”
In addition to the fact that the response has been practically immediate, it has not been necessary to write any other prompt, since the AI assistant will ask you several questions that you can answer simply as if it were a questionnaire.
In this way, it will ask you about the budget you have, what you are going to use it for, the preferred size, and other questions so that ChatGPT can offer you several recommendations.
In this specific case, we have chosen a medium-sized desktop computer, with a budget that does not exceed the barrier of $1200, and that can launch the latest triple-A games without implying a bad experience.
Next, ChatGPT prepares a summary with the main features that you will look for and offers the best general option, with a main image as the protagonist and the advantages of acquiring that recommendation, as well as the page where to buy it.
Just below this recommendation, a comparison table appears with various desktop PCs, along with their RAM and storage configurations, best usage, price, GPU, and tower size.
In case none of these options please you, below it also offers some additional recommendations, always taking into account the specifications you have chosen.
If you need to be more specific or look for more options, you can always chat from the same chat with the assistant, and they will offer you other products that may fit your request.
Beyond the fact that its shopping research assistant works very quickly, it can indeed hide some offers that it has not found, so a traditional manual search in the search engine of your choice is always recommended.
