Huawei has presented its new family of smartwatches, which arrives with surprising autonomy and GPS with the Huawei Sunflower positioning system.

Huawei has presented this Friday its new family of smartwatches, which arrives with the slogan “Ride the Wind” and which is once again focused on the measurement of sports activity, mainly in cycling, with batteries that last more than 20 days in economy mode and a very precise geolocation system.

As with the previous generation, this one is made up of two product lines, Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro, with a size of 46 mm, and the normal model, in which another size is added, 41 mm.

The Pro model is 45.6 mm x 45.6 mm x 11.25 mm in size, weighs 54.7 grams without the strap, and is made from sapphire crystal and a titanium-ceramic alloy. It has a 1.47-inch screen and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.

The 46mm Huawei Watch GT 6 is 46mm x 46mm x 10.95 mm in size, weighs 51.3 grams when the strap is removed, and is composed of materials such as lithium, aluminum, silicon, and stainless steel. Its panel size is 1.47 inches, and its peak brightness is 3,000 nits.

Finally, the smallest format and base model, the 41mm Huawei Watch GT 6, has a size of 41.3 mm x 41.3 mm x 9.99 mm, a weight of 37.5 grams, and the same materials as its big brother. Its screen is 1.32 inches and reaches a maximum brightness identical to the 46 mm model.

At the battery level and in descending mode, the most advanced watch has an 867 mAh and is fully charged in 95 minutes – the charger does not come in the box, but the wireless charging adapter does – just like the Huawei Watch GT 6 46 mm. The smaller model, on the other hand, has a capacity of 540 mAh and goes from 0 to 100% of its battery in 85 minutes.

When changing operating hours, we find an autonomy of 21 days in energy-saving mode and, with automatic workout detection disabled, 12 days with normal use and 40 hours in trail/running/cycling and outdoor running mode.

On the other hand, the 46 mm Huawei Watch GT 6 remains at the same metrics, while the battery life of the smaller version is reduced to 14 days in economy mode, 7 days with normal use, and 25 hours in training mode.

Improved positioning system

Huawei has also pointed out that this series of smartwatches has an improved Sunflower positioning system to give the best of itself in disciplines such as trail running, cycling, or hiking. Thanks to its accuracy, therefore, it is possible to obtain more reliable metrics, which are key to optimizing performance and monitoring evolution over time.

It is also the first family to incorporate the virtual power function for cycling, which allows cyclists to measure the intensity of their training with an accuracy almost equivalent to that of a specific power meter. In this way, users can see their power in real time directly on their wrist and adjust the intensity of each sports session.

On the other hand, these watches incorporate the TruSense system, with multidimensional detection to offer detailed health analysis and continuous cardiovascular monitoring. Added to this is the HRV metric, which allows real-time evaluation of the state of training and optimizes recovery.

Another of its strengths is the Health Insights feature, which has been revamped to incorporate deeper, more personalized analysis. In this way, it now combines data from different areas, such as emotional state, workouts, heart health, and sleep quality, which, thanks to new advanced algorithms, transforms them into clear and easy-to-interpret trends.
