Boost your WIFI speed instantly with this 2-minute router fix — a quick guide anyone can follow for faster internet.

Your home WiFi network could be saturated if there are too many routers nearby. Here’s how you can get your internet speed back without additional apps or commands.

Watching series and movies on Netflix, using IPTV lists to watch live channels, playing online video games, and browsing the Internet without having to wait for the pages to load completely are things that become a challenge when the connection slows down.

From one day to the next, the WiFi router could present performance problems and slowdowns in the network, making many of the things you do from your Chrome browser or apps installed on your PC become a real headache.

What do you do in these situations? Maybe you’ve tried to find solutions, but most of them are complex, require other devices, or don’t meet the problem.

Luckily, there is a way to solve it that is simple for any user, and you only need a couple of minutes to see the difference in connection speed.

Why should you change the WIFI channel, and how do you do it

Why should you change the WIFI channel, and how do you do it?

Slow internet can be caused by many things, but if you’ve noticed that it happened suddenly and there’s nothing that’s causing this problem, one of the main ways to fix it is by checking the router’s channel stability.

Many times the inconvenience occurs that there are many neighbors around who have different routers. Most likely, they are automatically linked to the same channel, which causes it to become congested and causes the router’s signal to be inadequate.

This means that the WiFi reception range is considerably reduced for the devices, while instabilities and other problems are generated. Ideally, if you suspect that this is the origin, you should switch to a channel that is not frequently overloaded.

This frees up the signal and restores the speed to its initial state. The good news is that it’s a very simple process because even a child could do it. It’s not a saying; the reality is that this requires approximately three steps depending on your router.

Initially, you have to go to the device settings by entering the corresponding IP address in your preferred browser, which could be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 (always connected to the network).

You should see the manufacturer’s official page, where you need to log in or register if necessary. Now go to the WiFi Settings and go to the Channel section. For example, on a TP-Link router, it would be Advanced>Wireless Network>Wireless Configuration>Channel Width and Channel.

By default, both sections may be in automatic mode. It is recommended to change the main channel to one that is not so saturated, as the most used are 1, 6, and 11.

Try switching to a different one, or try each of them until you notice a change in network performance. To confirm this change in the configuration, you must restart the router.

Other factors influence the connection, one of the main ones being appliances that have 2.5 GHz frequencies. There are also obstacles that you might have at home, such as mirrors and thick walls.

If you want to get the most out of your router, it’s best to place it in a central, elevated part of your home to optimize signal range while making sure it has the eligible Mbps capacity for your plan.

In the event that you have many devices that support 5 GHz, connect them to that network for better speed. As an addition, creating a network of guests is sure to help you better manage the network and avoid security problems.
