The new DJI Osmo Pocket 4P retains the Pocket 4’s 1-inch sensor but includes a new telephoto lens with a powerful optical zoom.

Just one month after the launch of the Osmo Pocket 4 and taking advantage of the start of the Cannes festival, DJI has announced the Osmo Pocket 4P, an improved version of its pocket camera with stabilization that now arrives with two cameras and multiple new features for video recording.

The new Osmo Pocket 4P maintains the same design line as the Osmo Pocket 4, standing out for its rotating screen at the bottom and the new buttons to access different video modes. However, there is one element of its appearance that attracts a lot of attention: its dual camera. DJI has chosen to include an additional sensor just above the 1-inch sensor that the company already includes in the Pocket 4 and that, in this case, allows greater versatility when it comes to recording video.

The new sensor of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P is a telephoto lens that allows you to record video with a 3x optical zoom, which in turn allows a longer range without losing quality, something that many users asked for. Thanks to this second lens, the Osmo Pocket 4P is able to record simultaneously. This means that the camera will save two files of the same recording: one taken with the 1x lens and one with the 3x zoom.

The company also assures that the new Osmo Pocket 4P has several advances that respond to the needs of creators, including improved capabilities for portraits with more natural skin tones and colors or improvements in low-light conditions.

While DJI has not yet confirmed more details, everything points to the new Osmo Pocket 4P maintaining some of the star features of the model announced just a month ago. This includes the increase in internal memory compared to the previous generation, which is now 107 GB, so as not to depend on Micro SD cards. In addition, the transfer speed is maintained at up to 800 MB/S.

On the other hand, the Osmo Pocket 4P has two new physical buttons. One of them allows you to change the zoom, while the other is a kind of action button that you can customize to access a specific mode. In any case, new gesture controls are also available to start or stop recording by making a “V” shape with your hands.

This pocket-sized camera also includes ActiveTrack 7.0, the tracking mode that is now capable of tracking objects even when using a long-range zoom.

Regarding its price and availability, as well as the configurations in which it will be available, DJI has revealed that it will offer information later.
