Apple’s former CEO has said goodbye to the company he has been running for years, thanking his team and consumers.
Tim Cook’s era at Apple has ended after 15 years as CEO of one of the largest and most powerful companies on the planet, and, on the occasion of his departure, he has issued a letter in which he has thanked all the work and affection of employees and consumers during this time.
Steve Jobs’ successor has thus passed his position to John Ternus, until now Apple’s senior vice president of engineering and hardware, who will take over at a difficult time for both the company and the sector.
Among other reasons, the increase in the price of components and the use of RAM in data centers that promote artificial intelligence have changed the paradigm of technology and have hit all technology brands.

On the occasion of his farewell, Cook has issued a statement that has been echoed by Bloomberg and 9to5Mac and in which he has acknowledged that “it is still difficult to believe that the time has come” to leave his position as CEO.
“I love this company and the team behind it, and I couldn’t let this moment pass without sending you a letter to tell you how grateful I am for the affection you have given me throughout this time and for the privilege of serving you as a leader,” he said.
He then attributed his success to the company’s employees, in which, in his opinion, “culture triumphs over everything.” We share the belief that what we build matters and that we have the opportunity and responsibility to leave the world better than we found it. That purpose is part of what makes this place extraordinary. Apple helps nurture it,” he said.
He then explained what the company’s philosophy is and why he believes it has worked for them over the years. “We bring out the best in each one. We support each other,” and “together we have created something much greater than any of us could have imagined or achieved alone,” he added.
Finally, he has advanced that, although he is moving away from a role that he has loved “deeply” and that he will miss his job very much despite having made the decision to leave it “alone”, he is comforted to know that he has handed over the helm “to someone as brilliant, wonderful and capable as John.”
“I look forward to seeing you in my new role at Apple Park and around the world,” he concluded, before assuring that “few people like John understand what it takes to build products that change the world.”
Who is John Ternus, Apple’s new CEO?
John Ternus is one of the best-known employees of the brand with the bitten apple. A mechanical engineer by profession, he has been at Apple for 25 years and signs some of the most important products in recent years.
For example, he is known to have been at the forefront of the teams that have developed the iPad, AirPods, and Apple Watch, in addition to having a vital role in the changes in Mac. Specifically, in the leap towards Apple’s own chips.
Considering that he knows the company’s hardware very well, it has already been shown that he has a very different profile from Cook, because he is a more technical man than the former CEO of the brand.
It should be noted, however, that Turnus will continue to have Cook’s strategic vision, as he will remain as executive chairman and will be responsible for ensuring continuity in strategy and international relations.
In his place, therefore, will be placed Johnny Srouji, who will be Apple’s new head of hardware, after a time as such in the chip section. This has also been key in Apple’s trajectory, because it was responsible for the company to stop using Intel components to bet on Apple Silicon.
