Apple’s new M4 chip will bring AI to the company’s entire computer line.
Apple’s upcoming iMac, MacBook, and Mac Mini will feature an artificial intelligence-focused chip. It will be named M4 —the natural evolution of the present M3s— and everything suggests that they will be another of the protagonists of WWDC 2024 next June.
This would be one of the moves of the Cupertino firm to raise sales of its range of Mac devices, which is going through a moment of some lethargy. And it is that the new machines that have arrived with the M3 chips in recent months are not as attractive, in many cases, as they were in the previous generation. In some cases, the previous model is even more recommended than the new one.
A new M4 chip for Mac with AI
Although it is to be expected that the improvements in the new M4 chips from Apple will be several, Bloomberg points out that artificial intelligence will have a prominent weight. And that’s why this generation of chips is anticipated to be more significant than the current M3.
Apple will bring its M4 chips to its entire Mac range, starting with the iMac and MacBook Pro later this year. By 2025, MacBook Air and Mac mini would be renewed with the same chip.
It will have three different variants depending on the machine to which it is intended and the potential audience of the same, as already happens in the present. Among the differences that may be found, for example, will be the total RAM capacity that the computer will be able to have, which would go from the current 192 GB in Mac Pro and Mac Studio to a maximum of 512 GB in the new models.

Technologists are fooled by being late for the industry’s sensation and are hoping to hit the table with advances in their upcoming terminals and software upgrades.
